**1)** **Drywall Acoustic Mechanic & Lather**

Drywall Acoustic Mechanic & Lathers are similar to wood carpenters, except they build everything out of heavy and light gauge steel studs (not wood studs) all year round, regardless of weather conditions. Drywall Acoustic Mechanic & Lathers erect various exterior and interior stud wall partitions. They also install metal door frames, window frames, a variety of acoustical ceilings, and precast mouldings for columns and ceilings. In addition, they also install x-ray shielding, thermal and sound insulation along with a variety of drywall panels and metal and vinyl trims.

**2)** **Drywall Acoustic Finisher & Plasterer**

**3)** **Exterior Insulating Finishing Systems Mechanic**

Also known as ‘synthetic stucco’, exterior insulating Finishing Systems combines the best of Drywall Mechanic and Drywall Finishing skill sets. The antiquated construction technique has made an impressive architectural comeback. EIFS is a three-part system. First, exterior walls are installed with rigid foam insulation boards (using adhesive or mechanical anchors). Then, a finishing coat using a finisher trowel is applied. This pre-mixed, coloured texture can be used in endless patterns for added aesthetic appeal.

**4)** **Hazardous Material Worker (HAZMAT)**

Discover the latest apprentice-trade program offered by the MLTSD. The Hazardous Materials Worker program offers exclusive training in specialized tasks including the containment, removal and disposal of hazardous materials. Apprentices of the program are expected to be familiar with applicable legislation including the Occupational Health and Safety Act, the Environmental Protection Act and their regulations.
