**Job Summary**:
Reporting to the Director of Care, the Resident Care Shift Leader is responsible for the leadership of clinical services and building safety/security (days evenings, weekends, and holidays). She/he will exercise effective assessment, problem-solving and critical thinking skills to promote, coach and guide safe, competent resident directed care and building security. The Resident Care Shift Leader will also address risk management and other general management issues as they arise.

**Qualifications**:

- Current registration with the Nova Scotia College of Nursing
- Bachelor of Nursing Degree
- Three (3) years geriatric nursing experience
- Demonstrated 2 years experience in a leadership role
- Demonstrated administrative experience and leadership skills
- Ability to work effectively as a contributing team member
- Demonstrated knowledge of the nursing process, nursing diagnosis, excellent clinical assessment skills and problem solving
- Demonstrated supervisory and interpersonal communication skills (written and oral)
- Ability to attend work on a regular and consistent basis
