Marketing and Communications Coordinator
Temporary Part-Time (Up to 30 Hours / Per Week) - 1-Year Contract
At Community Care Durham (CCD), coordinated networks of volunteers and inter-professional staff, working out of integrated community hubs and other locations, strive to enrich the well-being and quality of life for people wherever they choose to call home. As the largest community support services agency in Durham Region, CCD collaborates with its partners and the broader community to address community issues and support local citizens to achieve their goals to live independently.
Reporting to the Communications Specialist, the Marketing and Communications Coordinator is responsible for developing and implementing marketing strategies, managing digital and traditional marketing channels, and creating engaging content that resonates with our audience. Additionally, they will work closely with various departments to ensure our messaging is consistent and aligned with our goals. They will be required to produce materials for online and print, promoting and building brand awareness in the community of Community Care Durham and the services we offer and support our fundraising initiatives.
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Develops and maintains content for CCD’s website, intranet, and social media channels;
- Serves as a point of contact for a high volume of marketing and design inquiries from different departments (Human Capital, Client Services, Central Administration, etc.);
- Collaborates with departments to gather information and create marketing designs and materials;
- Works with marketing team and departments to ensure content aligns with company standards and design guidelines;
- Assists in the development of marketing materials such as brochures, flyers, ads (print and online), templates, promotional items, etc.;
- Coordinates and executes marketing campaigns and promotions with internal teams (i.e., Kilometers for CCD, Staff Appreciation Events, Holiday Parties, Brand Redesigning, Department Promotions and Redesigning, etc.);
- Provides marketing and communications advice to teams regarding internal communication, marketing and promotional activities;
- Coordinates with the fundraising team to ensure seamless communication and marketing support for campaigns.
**Qualifications required**:
- Education in Communications, Marketing, Public relations, Journalism or related field/experience
- 2 years of experience in Marketing, relationship building, partnership engagement, and/or communications as well as grant writing, proposal development and fundraising
- Advanced knowledge of, and experience using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); WordPress, HTML, and Google Analytics
- Multi-media expertise using programs such as Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, PhotoShop, Premiere Pro, and Canva
- Graphic design experience
- Experience developing websites using WordPress with the ability to do on-going maintenance/updates; data management: collecting, recording and reporting
- Sound familiarity of social media platforms, (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, etc.)
- Strong writing, proofreading and copy-editing skills, with experience crafting feature stories, e-newsletters, PowerPoint presentations, reports and social media content
- Sensitivity to the needs of the vulnerable population with disabilities, including challenges in cognition
- Satisfactory Police Vulnerable Sector Check
- Must work in a safe manner and promote the health and safety of all staff, volunteers, clients and the community as outlined within CCD policies
**Compensation**: Starting at $28.00 per hour; 6% vacation pay on each bi-weekly pay period
*Pay will be commensurate based on education and experience
