Job Description
Program Coordinator / Family Navigator

Job Summary:

- Assist families with relocation and settlement to the region.
- Assess clients' situations to provide information, assistance, coaching, emotional support or referrals.
- Act as a community service Subject Matter Expert (SME) for families with intricate needs, working in collaboration with the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF), local community agencies, and external partnership agencies to ensure families receive the required supports.
- Educate local community organizations on CAF military family lifestyle
- Perform outreach/warm-line calls to CAF family members, as required.
- Develop, deliver and evaluate programs and services that are not offered by local community services and/or assist in the development of services through local partnerships.
- Support self-help group development through facilitation, presentations and information sharing, engaging clinical support, as required.
- Assist with the implementation and evaluation of activities.
- Research and maintain local community resources, services and program details.

Education/Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Social Service, Mental Health, Social Work, or a related field, or
College diploma in Social Services, Mental Health, Human Services, or a related field, or
Several years of experience in direct community service delivery.

Certifications/Licenses:
The following certifications/licenses will be considered an asset:

- CPR & First Aid, Mental Health
- First Aid, Suicide Intervention, Crisis Intervention, and Life Coach Certification.

- Preparing and implementing multi-media social marketing campaigns
- Creating visual aids and marketing support material
- Data entry, record-keeping and retrieval techniques
- Organizing, implementing and evaluating programs
- Developing and facilitating self-help and support groups
- Providing emotional support
- Client case management
- Budget administration

**Responsibilities**:
Primary
- Assess clients’ situations to provide information, assistance, and/or referral to navigate the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) lifestyle challenges.
- Act as case manager for families with intricate needs, working in collaboration with the CAF, the organization, local community resources and external partnership agencies to ensure families receive the required supports.
- Perform outreach/warm-line calls to CAF family members, as required.
- Support self-help group development through facilitation, presentations and/or information sharing, engaging clinical support, as required.

Secondary
- Assist with the implementation and evaluation of activities to provide information to

Canadian Armed Force(CAF) families and/or military members.
- Liaise with community service providers to identify local community programs, services and activities that meet the needs of CAF families.
- Research and maintain local community resources, services and program details.
- Conduct community orientations, information sessions and briefings.
- Compile data and report program and service gaps to manager/supervisor.
- Document and maintain client information and services within authorized Customer

Relationship Management system (Penelope).

Supervisory/Human Resources Administration:

- N/A

Financial:

- Provide input into the financial budget

Communication:

- Educate local community organizations on the unique aspects of the military family life.
- Plan and implement advertising and promotional activities to promote Military Family Resource Center (MFRC) and community-based services to local CAF families.
- Contribute articles and information for inclusion into the MFRC newsletter.
- Maintain community information boards.

Administrative:

- Liaise with community service providers to identify local community programs, services and activities that meet the needs of CAF families.
- Develop and maintain partnerships with community groups, support agencies, schools and other organizations to enhance service delivery to CAF families.

Other:

- Perform other related duties as assigned by supervisor.

**Salary**: $50,000.00-$55,000.00 per year
