J.D. Barnes Limited is searching for an Accounts Receivable Specialist to join our team As an Accounts Receivable Specialist, you will be responsible for providing financial, administrative, and clerical services and ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of transactions. You will process and monitor incoming payments, verify, and post receipts. This position requires regular contact with internal and external parties. This is a full-time, on-site position, located in Markham, ON.

J.D. Barnes Limited is a leading geomatics firm specializing in Surveying, Planning, Mapping and Geographic Information Systems (GIS) for the public and private sectors. We are a Markham-based company with 25 divisional offices located throughout Ontario and Quebec. The company was established in 1960 and has become one of Canada's largest firms of its kind with over 200 professional and technical staff.

**Duties and Responsibilities**
- Monitor accounts and incoming payments,
- Perform verifying, classifying, computing, posting, and recording accounts receivable data,
- Assist on collection efforts,
- Respond to and resolve clients’ billing issues ad questions,
- Prepare and manage bills and invoices
- Reconcile the accounts receivable ledger,
- Make sure that all payments are properly posted,
- Assist in preparing detailing accounts receivable status,
- Set up new customers,
- File maintenance,
- Depositing cheques at the bank
- Other duties as assigned.

**Requirements and Qualifications**
- Experience in Accounts Receivable, Collections and similar roles,
- Good understanding of basic accounting principles,
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as, strong customer service skills,
- Ability to calculate, post, and manage accounting figures in a timely manner,
- High accuracy in data entry,
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, etc.),
- Critical thinker and problem-solving skills,
- Good team player,
- Good time-management skills,
- Required to be self-motivated and be able to complete daily tasks independently with “can do” attitude,
- Degree or diploma in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration.
- Access to vehicle and driver’s license
