Summary of Position:

This individual will be supporting CAE Civil’s FP&A community and will be a key contributor to the financial monthly forecast, annual budgeting process, operating plan variance analysis, business performance tracking and special projects. S/he will provide financial consulting and strategic support to senior management including preparing executive presentations, financial presentations, revenue / cost analysis, and other projects requested by senior management. This function acts as the analytical engine of the company to provide insights and support ‘optimal’ business decision making. The position reports to the Civil FP&A Manager
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Actively involved in the consolidation of monthly forecasting activities of the Civil Business
- Analyze current and past trends in key performance indicators including all areas of revenue, operational performance, expenses, and investments
- Monitor performance indicators, highlighting trends and analyzing causes of unexpected variance
- Supports the annual budgeting exercise for Civil
- Supports the continued development of Budgeting, Financial Forecasting, Operating Plan and Modeling tools with actionable insights
- Develop financial models and analyses to support strategic initiatives
- Support enhancements to the investment book process through improved allocation and tracking
- Analyze complex financial information and reports to provide accurate and timely financial recommendations to management for decision making purposes
- Supporting Senior Management Team and Regional heads with in-depth analysis
- Ad-Hoc Reporting and Analysis
- Yearly, Quarterly and Monthly Financial reports
- Prepare presentations to Senior Management Team
Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Commerce degree with a major in Finance or Accounting, CPA designation or in progress
- 3+ years of experience in Financial Planning and Analysis or a similar role within a large organization
- Strong business partnering skills required. Experience in multi-national organization preferred
- Advanced Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills.
- Highest standards of accuracy and precision; highly organized.
- Articulate with excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to think creatively, highly-driven and self-motivated
- Demonstrated ability to roll-up sleeves and work with team members in a hands-on support capacity
- Bilingual, English and French
