This **CDA II **position is **part-time**:
**Wednesday 1:45 - 7:30**
**Friday 7:45 - 5:30**

**Responsibilities**:

- **Patient Care and Management**:

- Preparing patients for dental procedures
- Providing oral hygiene instructions and post-operative care instructions
- Taking dental histories and updating patient records
- **Clinical Duties**:

- Assisting the dentist during a variety of treatment procedures
- Taking and developing dental radiographs
- Taking preliminary impressions for diagnostic and treatment purpose
- Performing selective polishing as part of the dental prophylaxis
- Placing and removing rubber dams
- Placing and removing matrices and wedges
- **Sterilization and Infection Control**:

- Sterilizing and disinfecting instruments and equipment
- Maintaining strict compliance with infection control protocols
- **Administrative Responsibilities**:

- Scheduling
- Managing patient records
- Preparing estimates
- **Laboratory Tasks**:

- Pouring and trimming study models.
- Fabricating custom mouth guards and whitening trays
- Performing basic laboratory procedures
- **Equipment Maintenance**:

- Ensuring that dental equipment is functioning properly.
- Performing routine maintenance and identifying the need for repairs
- **Continuing Education and Professional Development**:

- Participating in ongoing education to stay up-to-date with new techniques and technologies
- Maintaining current certification
- **Health and Safety Compliance**:

- Adhering to workplace health and safety policies
- Ensuring compliance with provincial regulations and standards
- **Collaboration and Teamwork**:

- Working effectively with the team, including dentists, hygienists, other dental assistants and admins
- Participating in team meetings
