Familiar at reviewing production and sanitation records prior to finished product release.

Familiar at creating and submitting finished product COAs.

Strong track record working with environmental monitoring program (pathogens, non-pathogens, swabs, air quality, water quality).

Familiar at maintaining Master Calibration Log, review and document calibration certificates, schedule repairs or replacements.

**Quality Assurance Technician**

**Term**:Full-Time, Contract, 12 months

**Shift**: Mon-Fri, Day

The Quality Assurance Technician is responsible for maintaining the facility’s day-to-day Quality Assurance and Food Safety testing, inspections, verifications, and controls.

**Duties/Responsibilities**:

- Perform finished product microbiological and organoleptic tests.
- Conduct inbound material inspections to ensure compliance against internal specification, customer specification, regulatory, and authenticity/claims requirements.
- Hold/Release materials and finished product using the SAP platform.
- Review production and sanitation records prior to finished product release.
- Create and submit finished product COAs to customers.
- Generate and follow-up on Supplier Non-Conformance Reports related to defective materials.
- Collate samples and information pertaining to Customer Complaints.
- Execute environmental monitoring program (pathogens, non-pathogens, swabs, air quality, water quality).
- Conduct lab equipment verifications, calibrations, and monitoring tasks.
- Maintain Master Calibration Log, review and document calibration certificates, schedule repairs or replacements as needed.
- Maintain Master Sanitation Schedule, ensuring non-daily activities or tasks are completed on time and in full.
- Organize and manage retain sample library, completing shelf-life testing as required.
- Issue routine reports for micro testing, tolerances, sanitation, and EMP.
- Schedule and perform validation studies (allergens, cleaning, CCPs).
- Actively participate in Proficiency testing and reporting.
- Liaise with Pest Control and Sanitation vendors, follow-up on non-conformances and corrective/preventive actions.
- Coordinate and accompany CFIA inspector for RTE and meat sampling or environmental swabbing.
- Maintain Deviation Log, cataloguing or issuing deviations, and closing once actions are completed.
- Conduct audits and inspections as assigned.
- Other duties as assigned by the QA Manager

**Required Knowledge, skills and abilities**:

- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and written.
- Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities.
- Ability to follow instructions and maintain a strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work as a team or independently with mínimal supervision.
- Develop a positive work environment through team building and collaboration.
- Lead by example to build a Food Safety and Quality culture within the facility.

**Qualification & Experiences**:

- Diploma or Degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Science, or related field.
- 1-2 years experience in a related field in food manufacturing.
- Working knowledge of MS Office, QMS software, and SAP.
- Working knowledge of GMPs.
