The Guest Service Agent will be responsible for welcoming our guests and verifying all information during the check-in/check-out process. In this role, accuracy and accountability are key. **Job Requirements**:

- Welcome guests in a friendly, prompt and professional manner, recognizing Marriott Bonvoy Members as well as returning guests
- Maintain an inventory of vacancies, reservations and room assignments
- Check guests in, issue room keys, provide information on hotel services and room location
- Ensure all customers establish credit upon check-in.
- Promote and acknowledge guest participation in Marriott Bonvoy Rewards and provide benefits to all members
- Answer enquiries regarding hotel services and registration by letter, by telephone and in person, provide information about services available in the community
- Compile and check daily record sheets, guest accounts, receipts and vouchers using computerized or manual systems
- Routinely book guest reservations for individuals and/or groups
- Answer phones in a prompt and courteous manner
- Present statements of charges to departing guests and receive payment
- Take, cancel and change room reservations
- Provide information on hotel facilities and services
- Provide general information about points of interest in the area
- Take action to investigate and resolve guest problems, complaints, and claims using appropriate service recovery guidelines
- Balance cash and complete balance sheets, cash reports and related forms
- Follow emergency and safety procedures
- Clerical duties (i.e. faxing, filing, photocopying)
- Answer, record and process all guest calls, messages, requests, questions or concerns
- Accommodating general and unique guest requests
- Handle wake-up calls
- Work as part of a team and communicate with other departments as per hotel procedures to ensure excellent quality and service
- Perform other duties as assigned including guest room tours, concierge services, special guest requests, etc.

**Qualifications and Education Requirements**:

- High school diploma
- Computer literacy, math skills, and knowledge of word processing software
- Guest / customer service experience

**Preferred Skills**:

- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Strong organizational skills and ability to identify errors in records
- Ability to handle stressful situations calmly and effectively
- Ability to multitask
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Good time management and organizational skills
- Conflict resolution skills
- Patience and good listening skills
- Proven experience as a Guest Service Agent or in a similar role, preferably in the hospitality industry is considered an asset
- Certificate or diploma in hospitality is considered an asset
