**Job Summary**

**Responsibilities**
- Manage daily operations of the shop, ensuring efficient workflow, productivity and under budget.
- Oversee the assembly and fabrication processes, maintaining high standards of quality control.
- Implement and monitor systems for inventory management and supply chain efficiency.
- Responsible for all shop floor employees safety and well being. Resolving fabrication issues that arise. Oversee all fabrication.
- Train, mentor, and supervise shop staff to foster a collaborative work environment.
- Provide scheduling of shop labour in conjunction with project managers and owner.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and maintain a clean, organized workspace. Conduct safety audits on equipment and schedule maintenance where required to comply.
- Provide monthly maintenance reports for all shop equipment.
- Fabrication drawings to be distributed to production manager by prject managers, drafting manager and occasionally field foreman. Responsible to distribute workload to shop personnel to meet deadlines.
- Responsible to coordinate overtime when workload permits in conjunction with owner.
- Ordering of materials to keep shop production flowing.
- Coordinate and dedicate manpower for loading and unloading steel trucks.
- Keep track of all shop consumables in maintenance room and to order when stock is low.
- Maintain a safe yard by organizing material outside in compound and ensuring all steel items are tagged and labelled.
- Order all paint material and organize paint shop so it run adequately and efficiently.
- Responsible for coordinating trucking or pickup of material or steel that is not in stock and required asap for fabrication. Includes on occasion pick up of gases and consumables when required in urgence.
- Maintain shop material organization by having material on racks and not on shop floor. Must always be unobstructed.
- Responsible to keep fork trucks maintained and call for service when required.
- Coordinate closing duties consisting of checking all gases and propane are in closed position, all company vehicles and trailer on occasion are pulled into shop or yard.

**Qualifications**
- Minimum 10 years experience working in a shop fabrication environment.
- Proven experience in a manufacturing environment in a supervisory or management role.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot equipment issues.
- Familiarity with quality control processes and lean manufacturing principles.
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop team members.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a commitment to continuous improvement practices.
- Ability to multitask.
- Forklift certification is a MUST.
- Proficient and extremely knowledgeable in interpreting structural steel fabrication drawings and misc metal fabrication drawings
- Knowledge of computer operating systems, including Outlook, and Excel.

Weekly regular hours are from 6:30am - 4:30pm Monday to Thursday. Friday 6:30am - 2pm

Based on 45 hour workweek.

Pay: $80,000.00-$95,000.00 per year
