Our products include debt and equity financing, mergers & acquisitions, corporate banking, institutional equity sales, trading and research, fixed income products, derivatives, energy, foreign exchange, and precious & metals. We also cross-sell the full range of wholesale products and services offered by the Scotiabank Group. **Overview of the Financial Institutions Group** The Financial Institutions Group (“FIG”) Investment Banking group at Scotiabank provides comprehensive financing solutions and services to Financial Institution clients globally. We offer a full range of corporate banking, investment banking and capital markets products and solutions, partnering closely with all divisions of Scotiabank to deliver a coordinated approach across products and geographies. **Key Responsibilities** - Provide day to day account management support - Structure, analyze and perform due diligence on transactions that vary in complexity - Develop recommendations for the appropriate course of action - Analyze, process and execute credit requests - Research credit and bank product requirements of existing and prospective clients - Ensure credit files, agreements and security documents are complete and up to date - Monitor and follow for client compliance - Assist with the preparation of marketing pitches - Coordinate with various product groups within GBM - Develop and maintain effective industry relationships with other lenders, legal counsel, clients **Skills and Attributes**: - Business development capabilities - Assist with client relationship management and contribute to cross-sell activities - Maintain a professional approach in all client interaction - Excellent writing and verbal skills with concise rationale supporting recommendations and actions - High attention to detail with a sense of urgency appropriate to the situation - Strong time management skills and driven to achieve timelines and goals - Flexible to demands of work and viewed as a valuable team resource - Promotes cooperation, teamwork, and professional internal relationships **Qualifications and training**: - BComm designation - MBA/CFA is an asset - Strong written and verbal communication skills; proficiency in Spanish is considered an asset - Financial modelling experience - Mining industry knowledge or experience is preferred although not required - Strong computer skills including the use of MS Office, Excel, Word, PowerPoint Location(s): Canada : Ontario : Toronto Scotiabank is a leading bank in the Americas.
