We’re hiring a Sales Representative to join our team. This is a growth opportunity for a highly motivated individual within our business development department.

**PREFERRED CANDIDATE MATERIAL**
- Expected to have experience in the lighting & electrical industry
- Seeking a long-term opportunity with commission quotas in mind
- Nurtures client relationships, is customer service focused, and has great interpersonal skills
- Fluent in English, with demonstrated exceptional verbal and written communication skills; able to confidently present information professionally and articulately
- Ability to define customer specifications and needs in order to quote on an engineered product
- Understands and enjoys a growing environment

**KEY DUTIES**

**1. Trade Shows**
- Attend trade shows locally and internationally and follow up on the leads after the show.
- All trade show leads to be recorded in CRM for future reference.
- After each trade show, give feedback on the competition and new product innovations seen in the market, and connect with the relevant rep and have a follow up chat about the show.

**2. Customers**
- Build one to one relationship with specification sales team members, and respond to all communications on the same day
- Get constant feedback from the customer on how we can improve and what we can add in terms of new products
- Follow up with customers to find out about local shows that they will be attending or organizing

**3. Wholesalers**
- Weekly visits to different local electrical wholesalers
- Promote retail product lines actively throughout the distributor network and as and when products get added on, visit branches to educate about the new product launches
- Actively seek retail wall space to showcase and display the product lines
- Come up with promotional activities that might increase sales at a branch level

**4. Specifiers**
- Engage with lighting designers, engineers and architects from existing database
- Make local visits, do webinars and submit samples
- Research events to targeted specifiers and make arrangements to take part

**5. Webinars**
- Reach out to all the sales agencies at least twice a year
- Conduct product knowledge webinars when new employees join agencies

**6. Sales and Marketing Plan**
- Formulate sales strategies for 1 year and then a long-term plan that covers 3-5 years. Clearly identify short term and long-term goals and update the document on a biannual basis
- Make a yearly calendar of activities which includes targeted customer visits and regional shows that BL Lighting will attend.

**7. Other Areas**
- Update CRM with all visits, phone calls, sample submissions
- Act on new quote submissions that require a local site visit or phone calls
- Assist in creating marketing materials such as catalogs, brochures, sales promotions, newsletters etc.
- Present product demonstrations and conduct webinars, schedule and attend networking events, meetings, and exhibit at trade shows
- Act as an adviser and a product advocate

**REQUIREMENTS**

3+ years' experience in a sales role

Based in the Lower Mainland and able to travel throughout Canada and the USA

Class 5 drivers' license

Proficiency or ability to learn MS Office, G Suite, Zoho CRM
