**About Insight Advantage**
Insight Advantage delivers full-service employment placement, corporate training and vocational rehabilitation services across Southern Ontario. Insight is considered to be one of the premier providers to employers, insurance companies, corporate clients and government, holding contracts with CPP-D, WSIB and ODSP.
**Position Summary**
The Employment Specialist will be responsible for promoting job search participants to the employer community and liaising with employers to obtain job leads and to identify jobs. This includes working closely with the job search facilitators to ensure the service reflects participants’ needs, abilities and employment goals. As well, as an Employment Specialist, you will coach, support and monitor clients in the initial stages of employment and maintain relations with employers. The Employment Specialist is expected to keep up with changes in the field, have current knowledge of the job market and, together with their colleagues, develop and maintain innovative programming that achieves the highest standards in employment practices.
**Essential Job Functions**
- Coordinate and conduct marketing strategies and outreach activities to local employers, community agencies, non-profit associations and other organizations to generate awareness about Insight Advantage Employment Services and Programs.
- Develop relationships with employers and other key stakeholders in a variety of industries and sectors to ensure successful job development
- Discover opportunities in the hidden job market to assist clients find openings that reflect their individual skills and abilities.
- Assist with the organization and promotion of hiring events and/or job fairs
- Assist with data entry and organization of placement information and agreements as needed
**Preferred Qualifications**
- Educational background in Social Sciences, Disability Studies, Human Resources or related field an asset, but not required.
- Passion and interest in the areas of Marketing, Sales and Human Resources
- Possess organizational skills
- Strong ability to relate with diverse clientele
- Ability to maintain confidentiality; be sensitive to client’s needs
- Excellent computer skills in MS Word, Excel, Outlook and comfort within database environments
- Familiarity with local labour market trends, and demonstrated ability to source through directories and on the internet to locate contact details of key people
- Effective communication skills at a professional level - spoken, listening and written, with a natural sales ability
- Good understanding of various Job Search strategies
**Salary**: From $19.00 per hour
