**Employment Opportunities**:
The General Administrative Assistant component of this position includes Reception coverage, answering the phone and greeting clients/service providers while our full-time Receptionist attends to other daily administrative matters.

Established in 1937, Baker Newby is one of the largest law firms in the Fraser Valley with offices in Chilliwack and Abbotsford, and we have recently expanded our Abbotsford office. Despite this position’s initial focus on ICBC Defence assistance, with the changing legal landscape of motor vehicle litigation, Baker Newby is in fact well positioned to continue to receive and service a consistent flow of quality ICBC defence matters for several years to come. As a full-service firm with 20 lawyers, we are also uniquely positioned to gradually cross-train assistants in other areas of litigation throughout their career with us.

You would report most directly to senior Paralegals and a senior Legal Assistant, which provides an excellent and encouraging environment for continued training, offering great opportunity for younger legal assistants to start or accelerate their careers.
