Wild Rose Rural Electrification Association Ltd. (WRREA) is a not-for-profit member owned electrical utility provider. We are looking for a highly motivated individual to join our team as a **Journeyman Powerline Technician** in Westlock, Alberta. Applicant must live in, or be willing to relocate to Westlock.
This is a full time Monday to Friday role with “on call” rotation requirements with the opportunity for overtime hours in the event of power outages and or emergency situations.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Erect and maintain distribution system
- Install, maintain and repair overhead and underground powerlines, cables and insulators, lightning arrestors, switches, transformers and other associated equipment
- Ensure equipment, tools and materials are maintained in operable/ safe working order and supply
- Ensure company vehicles are stocked/ routinely checked serviced and equipped in readiness for any emergency
- Ensure shop area is kept in a clean and orderly manner.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Valid Driver’s License
- Journeyman Powerline Certification/ Red Seal
- Familiarity with Trucks, Aerial Lift Boom, Digger Derricks, Skid Steer
- Self-starter with the ability to work productively and independently
- Team Player
- Able to work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Ability to read and interpret diagrams and mapping
- Strong distribution system knowledge and skills
