We are looking for a Corporate Tax Co-op to join our Emera Corporate Tax team this Winter (January - April 2026).

This is an excellent opportunity for a student to gain hands-on experience in corporate tax with Emera’s head office in Halifax. Emera is an energy leader with investments in regulated electric and natural gas utility customers in Canada, the US and the Caribbean.

What you’ll do:

- Assist with the preparation of Canadian corporate income tax returns and various Canadian tax information returns using Excel and Corporate Taxprep software;
- Assist in the maintenance of tax records and documentation to support Corporate tax returns and information returns;
- Assist with responses to tax audit requests from CRA;
- Support the tax team in conducting tax research, analysis, and other administrative requirements.

Who you are: Working as a valued part of our Tax team, you will bring:

- Strong computer literacy including effective working skills of Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, OneNote, PowerPoint, and SharePoint; experience with Corporate Taxprep software is an asset;
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple, concurrent tasks;
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Prior internship or co-op experience in a tax or accounting role is an asset but not a requirement.
