**Lead, Youth Programs**
**Location**: YMCA of Three Rivers has locations throughout Guelph-Wellington Dufferin, Stratford-Perth and Waterloo Regions and the youth program is delivered across all sites.
**Reports To**:VP, Community Programs
**The Why?**
Supporting youth across our communities through a wide range of programs and community initiatives to support their unique needs is a key pillar in our work as a YMCA. In coming together as the YMCA of Three Rivers, an additional leadership opportunity has emerged to bring further focus and support to our diverse youth programming.
Youth programs of focus for this new role include the student nutrition program, mental health initiatives, and programs serving specific community connections or needs (eg: Just Hanging Out, 2SLGBTQ+ programming, Alternative Suspension) and more.
**The What?**
The Lead of Youth Programs will be accountable for the following key objectives:
- Collaboration with another Youth Program Lead to develop the entire youth team as one greater team serving many diverse youth and youth needs. Through this collaboration this team of leaders will drive strategy and program development together.
- Providing day to day people leadership, development and support to youth program supervisors across the YMCA of Three Rivers. They will foster and develop the capabilities of the team to continue to cultivate a team that is healthy and inclusive while doing the best they can to serve the youth.
- Support and stabilize the current operational reality for the team as we continue to evolve the way we deliver programs and meet the needs of the youth we serve. Align and evolve our operations, programs and initiatives across the various communities in which we serve, ensuring a JAIDE (justice, access, inclusivity, diversity, and equity) lens is applied. They will develop new and evolve current programs, processes and initiatives that are relevant, accessible and continue to meet the evolving needs of youth. This will require partnership and collaboration with various operational leaders and teams across the organization who also support youth through programs, services and spaces.
- Drive and balance our program delivery and supports with our financial reality and resources. They will partner directly with the philanthropy team and the finance team to identify the key priorities and work to secure the resources required to meet and sustain those priorities while also developing and monitoring the operational plan.
- Establish the key measurements, metrics and outcomes that will provide the data needed to make ongoing decisions about our youth programs and their impact. This will involve ensuring the team is set up with both individual and team objectives and key results (OKR’s). This also involves program evaluation and story collection to inform funding reports and donor stewardship.
- Grow our community partnerships and advocacy to further stabilize and connect the regional supports for youth.
**The Who?**
This is an exciting opportunity for a people-first leader in our organization with a passion for serving youth. We are looking for someone who has had experience leading (4+ years in a progressive supervisory position) and developing a team, is ready to roll up their sleeves, dig in, think big and make an impact. The competencies that will be leaned on and fostered in the day to day work of this role will be teamwork, problem solving, decision making, creativity, financial oversight, and communication.
**What you will gain**
You will be an integral part of the Youth team and an organization that has massive impact across our community. You will be joining a local organization but you’ll also be part of a global movement. The YMCA has an excellent pension plan available to all employees and a comprehensive benefit plan for full time employees.
**About us**:
The YMCA of Three Rivers is one of the community’s largest non-profit organizations. We are dedicated to the enrichment of our communities through the development of people and families.
