Journeyman

**SUMMARY**

We are seeking enthusiastic, Journeyman to join our Maintenance team. This position will be responsible for installing, repairing, troubleshooting, and maintaining equipment on the production line as well as for installing and repairing wiring, electrical fixtures, and control equipment. This is a unionized position.

All applicants must be able to work any shift in our 7/24 facility. We operate the plant under a 12-hour shift system (8:00 to 8:00) which has the benefit of only requiring seven work days in a 2-week pay period. This shift schedule offers the benefit of additional earnings compared to a standard forty-hour per week schedule. **DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**
- May include, but are not limited to, the following:_
- Follow all safety rules and legislation.
- Properly uses all hand and power tools and precision measuring equipment.
- Read and interpret drawings, blueprints, schematics, and electrical code specifications to determine the layout of industrial electrical equipment installations.
- Install, examine, replace or repair electrical wiring, receptacles, switch boxes, conduits, feeders, lighting fixtures, and other electrical components.
- Test electrical and electronic equipment and components for continuity, current, voltage, and resistance.
- Install, repair, and test switchgear, transformers, VFD’s,load reactors, and more.
- Maintain, repair, install and test switchgear and transformers.
- Troubleshoot, maintain and repair industrial, electrical, and electronic control systems and other related devices.
- Maintain, repair, test, and install electrical motors, industrial storage batteries, and hydraulic and pneumatic, electrical control systems
- May install, maintain and calibrate industrial instrumentation and related devices.
- Execute preventative and predictive maintenance programs for electrical systems.
- Any additional duties and responsibilities as deemed necessary by the Maintenance Superintendent and/or Plant Manager.

**EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS**
- Must be able to work any shift in our 7/24 facility.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience as an electrician
- We are willing to train the right person
- You have experience with industrial equipment installation
- You are mechanically inclined with excellent mathematical skills
- You are comfortable working with equipment rated up to 600V
- Must have strong communication, organizational and interpersonal skills and accurate in
- work habits.

**PHYSICAL DEMANDS**

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; use hands to touch, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, or crouch.

**WORK ENVIRONMENT**

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud as this position is based in the plant. The work is required in the operation of machines which require usage of required PPE including safety glasses, hearing protection, etc. May also result in exposure to outside elements and may require usage of stairs and elevators.
