**PROJECT CONTROLLER**

**JOB SUMMARY**

The Project Controller will be a key member of the project services team to ensure the successful execution of projects by providing comprehensive financial support. From budgeting and forecasting to tracking progress and analyzing performance metrics, the Project Controller will work closely with Directors, Project Managers, Project Coordinators, and other stakeholders to drive efficiency and maximize project outcomes.

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Develop, maintain, and report on project budgets, schedules, and resource allocation for both non-billable and revenue-generating projects.
- Assist the Project Managers with WBS structures and contract management inputs.
- Conduct cost-benefit analyses and recommend cost-saving measures to optimize project profitability.
- Provide guidance and support to project team members on financial matters.
- Attend planning meetings to ensure project schedules, forecasted deliverables, and available resources align with financial plans.
- Prepare regular reports on project financials, progress, and key performance indicators (KPI’s).
- Aid with invoice reviews monthly if required by the Project Manager.
- Establish procedures for overbudget projects including project status reports.
- Establish project close-out plans and reports
- Coordinate with Project Managers to track project timelines, milestones, and deliverables.
- Support project audits, reviews, and client inquiries as needed.
- Maintain weekly forecast and pipeline reports for the company’s portfolio.

**QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE**
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance or a related field.
- Certification in project management (CAPM or PMP) is considered an asset.
- Proven experience in project control, financial analysis, or a related role within the engineering or heavy industrial industry.
- Strong understanding of project management principles and best practices.
- Proficient in project management software such as Deltek Vantagepoint, Microsoft Excel and Project.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Highly organized and capable of managing multiple projects at any given time.
