**Location: Bonnyville, AB**

Lakeland Catholic School Division is looking for an innovative and strategic leader to assume the role of **Director of Learning Excellence**. This position, which reports directly to the **Deputy Superintendent of System Excellence**, requires an individual who can cultivate a culture of collaboration, respect, and trust while demonstrating a deep commitment to Catholic values.

The Director of Learning Excellence will be responsible for overseeing and ensuring the quality and consistency of faith formation and integration for both staff and students, managing divisional curriculum and instructional programming, and promoting systemic wellness across the division.

**Qualifications and Attributes of Educational Leaders Applying**:

- Supportive of the teachings of the Catholic Church and proven active engagement in a Catholic community parish.
- Certificated teacher in the Province of Alberta, with a Master’s Degree in Education Leadership and/or Curriculum or a related field.
- Must qualify for or hold a Leadership Certification (LQS) in the Province of Alberta.
- Superintendent Leadership Quality Standard (SLQS) certification would be considered an asset.
- Five or more years’ experience as a School Principal, including experience working in a Division Office, would be considered an asset.
- Collaborative, emotionally intelligent leader committed to strategic thinking, stakeholder assurance, transparent decision-making approaches, and the strength to make and stand behind difficult decisions.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with stakeholders and manage a variety of teams.
- A strong and visible commitment to student success.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to communicate in French, both orally and in writing, would be considered a strong asset.
- Proven success in driving curriculum initiatives, program development and implementation.
- Extensive knowledge in literacy and numeracy instruction and assessment practices across grades K-12.
- Strong ability to leverage data for school improvement and strategic decision-making.
- Comprehensive understanding of Alberta’s provincial education standards, legislation, issues and trends, curriculum regulations, and integrating Catholic values in teaching.

**The Director of Learning Excellence will provide leadership in the following areas**:
**Faith Formation and Integration**
- Oversee the Coordinator of Religious Education to work collaboratively with religious leads, school leadership and instructional staff to ensure that initiatives related to faith formation, integration, and Religious Education are implemented and meet divisional objectives.
- Support the ongoing faith formation of staff and students, and leaders, overseeing the faith formation requirements of all staff moving to continuous status
- Work with and serve as a liaison for the Archdiocese of St. Paul and the various parishes of Lakeland Catholic Schools.
- Collaboratively lead the Catholic School Review Process with the Coordinator of Religious Education, senior leadership and school administration.

**Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment**
- Plan, support and monitor curriculum implementation for student and staff success.
- Oversee Division Coordinators to support Literacy, Numeracy, and French Enhancement.
- Work directly and collaboratively with division staff, school leadership and instructional staff to ensure that initiatives related to enhanced student achievement are implemented and meet provincial and divisional objectives
- Work directly and collaboratively with principals and instructional staff, to ensure that provincially prescribed Programs of Study and Board-mandated programs are being followed, support the Divisional Priorities and evaluate for effectiveness and excellence.
- Plan, monitor and analyze school level benchmarks, screening and provincial assessments (eg., K Screener, PA Screener, BAS, STAR, Math, PAT, DIP)
- Interface with outside agencies (eg. AAC, APLC)

**Other**
- Work directly and collaboratively with Division administration and instructional staff to identify, plan, implement, and evaluate Division professional learning and mentorship projects.
- Develop and facilitate professional development activities and leadership capacity building of staff in collaboration with other leadership team members in all areas
- Develop planning initiatives to ensure success for First Nations, Métis, and Inuit students in the areas of faith, curriculum and wellness
- Assist and collaborate in the development of innovative programming and flexible approaches to learning to improve engagement and achievement
- Supervise the coordinator team
