**Drake Excavating (2016) Ltd. **is amiddle sized civil construction and excavation company, with a focus on the municipal / public works sector on projects located throughout the Lower Mainland/Fraser Valley.

Our head office is located in Maple Ridge with a subsidiary company located in Prince George, BC.

We are currently looking for a hands-on Safety Coordinator to join our close-knit team and take us to the next level of COR Certification. The Safety Cordinator will maintain a safety-driven culture, while being responsible for the development, administration, and maintenance of all safety and health programs in efforts to support all Occupational Health and Safety Regulations.
- Promote a culture of safety, where safety is a shared responsibility and lead the company to COR certification
- Ensure current safety policies and procedures are in compliance with current WCB and municipal regulations and amend or update OH&S policies and/or procedures as necessary
- Remain up to date on new and revised legislation, industry trends and best practices to make recommendations on keeping programs current and relevant
- Evaluate, develop, and implement Drake’s safety programs and strategies, while driving a strong health and safety culture
- Lead the development and maintenance of hazard assessment analysis and control, safe work procedures and safe job procedures
- In coordination with the Site Foremen and Supervisors, provide regular worksite safety training for all employees including new worker orientation, WHMIS, company safety policies & procedures, hearing tests, first aid, etc.
- Maintain all training records to ensure accurate reporting of course attendance and completion
- Ensure that all accidents, incidents, and injuries are properly reported to all appropriate parties
- Develop and/or monitor site specific safety plans and ensure Drake is in compliance
- Conduct safety orientations for all new and returning team members
- Conduct site specific orientations for all workers on sites where Drake is acting as General Contractor
- Facilitate site inspections and implement corrective actions as needed
- Review sub-contractor safety documentation for accuracy and completeness and provide feedback to Foremen and Supervisors
- Lead and participate in the Joint Health and Safety Committee on a monthly basis
