**Description**

The Business Development Representative is an outgoing, highly motivated, knowledgeable individual willing to contribute their experience, ability to build relations, and communication skills to the grow and develop the client base of Classic Fire + Life Safety. They contribute their efforts by developing relations with our existing clients while targeting new clients in specific marketplaces to build our construction client portfolio. The Business Development Representative is a proven self-starter who is highly effective at generating new quotation opportunities in selected markets and obtaining new business. This job description is to be used as a guideline only and may not incorporate all functions of the job.

**The Business Development Representative is a full-time position. In this challenging and rewarding role you will be responsible for, but not limited to the following responsibilities**:

- Generating new leads, identifying, and contacting decision-makers, screening potential business opportunities, and leading and facilitating the route to market strategy
- Work with high value existing clients on quotation opportunities and strengthening our relationships
- Work with the VP of Construction and the Director of Estimating in developing market entry strategy for previously untapped geographies / product lines based on market intelligence
- Assist the estimating/sales team with follow up, client meetings, and closing activities as required
- Continuously evaluate client needs, industry trends and our competitors to maintain our high level of excellence in the fire protection industry
- Work with the VP of Construction and marketing to create client focused sales materials
- Participates in industry networking events such as sales and tradeshows

**Qualifications**
- Past experience in B2B sales
- Minimum 10 years experience in the fire protection industry
- Experience in client relations and fire protection sales
- Effective at problem solving in a B2B environment
- Highly Effective Communicator who values client relations
- Ability to think outside the box and create new strategies and initiatives
- Outgoing and a self starter
- A team player who loves to assist his coworkers and teammates
- Proven track record of working in a high-paced, multifaceted position
- Knowledgeable in the fire protection construction process
- Knowledge of the leading general contractors in the Ontario and Canadian marketplace
- Good organizational skills & good work ethic
- Experience working with large general contractors and developing working relationships
- Efficient with technology and software.
