A well-known, long-standing **Italian bakery in Mississauga** is embarking on an exciting journey to expand its legacy. We are seeking a **Head Pastry Chef** who brings a blend of tradition and creativity to lead the pastry kitchen, manage a skilled team, and help shape the future of one of Mississauga’s most respected bakery brands.
**Your Role**:
As the **Head Pastry Chef**, you will take over day-to-day pastry operations while leading the evolution of the menu and kitchen processes. This is a rare chance to put your stamp on a well-established business and take it to the next level.
**Key Responsibilities**:
**Culinary Leadership**
- Lead daily production of traditional Italian pastries (cannoli, sfogliatelle, biscotti, zeppole, etc.)
- Oversee and craft custom wedding and celebration cakes with a luxury finish
- Maintain the highest levels of quality, presentation, and consistency
**Team & Kitchen Management**
- Supervise and inspire a dedicated pastry team
- Train staff on classic and modern pastry techniques
- Maintain kitchen organization, scheduling, and workflow
**Menu Development & Product Innovation**
- Develop and test new menu items and seasonal collections
- Introduce gourmet packaged pastry offerings and upsell opportunities
- Collaborate with ownership on product launches and bakery experience enhancements
**Operational Excellence**
- Oversee inventory, ordering, and ingredient sourcing
- Ensure adherence to food safety standards and hygiene protocols
- Work with leadership to streamline processes and scale production when needed
- 5+ years as a Pastry Chef with hands-on Italian pastry and cake design experience
- Proven ability to lead a pastry team and deliver consistent quality at scale
- Strong background in creating custom wedding and specialty cakes
- Creative and entrepreneurial mindset with a strong eye for detail
- Passionate about evolving a traditional brand through innovation and excellence

Pay: $75,000.00-$90,000.00 per year
