About You and this Role
Dow is seeking a Maintenance Field Representative (MFR) to join our team in Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta
As an MFR within the Maintenance organization, you will provide field coordination for the safe execution of maintenance activities across multiple trades. You will support the Work Activity Coordinator (WAC) by ensuring both scheduled and unplanned work is completed effectively, aligning with safety requirements and productivity targets. This role includes field-level leadership of craft teams performing corrective and preventative maintenance, with a focus on optimizing crew performance and minimizing equipment downtime.
Responsibilities
- Reviews job packages and ensures all preparatory field work is completed ahead of execution, removing obstacles and coordinating across maintenance to drive safe and effective completion of field activities.
- Be comfortable giving work direction and flexible in managing multiple jobs which may change in priority.
- Monitors field work completion status through regular communication with craft team members and provides daily progress updates to the WAC to support timely schedule adjustments when needed.
- Assists the WAC in the allocation of resources according to the maintenance schedule.
- Communicates changes to scheduled craft teams when equipment is not ready for maintenance, redirecting efforts to new tasks to maintain productivity.
- Confirms that all scheduled job steps and associated paperwork for the job have been completed.
- Takes on planner duties to expedite the completion of priority tasks.
- Verifies safe equipment return to operations.
- Coaches craft team members to accurately complete procedures, checklists, and equipment repair forms.
- Performs the role of ‘shift procedure use focal point’ for maintenance activity.
- Conducts safety field audits, including ensuring procedures are being used according to the local Maintenance Procedure Use Policy.
Qualifications
- Must have obtained a high school diploma/equivalent
- Must have obtained a Journeyperson Certificate, Red Seal Designation OR two-year degree (or higher) in a Steamfitter/Pipefitting, Boiler-Making, Millwright, Instrumentation or Electrical discipline.
- A minimum of 5 years relevant maintenance experience.
- Ability to safely work in a plant environment, meet physical demands, work at elevated heights, and comfortably use PPE and safety equipment (including harnesses with a total maximum weight capacity of 300lbs). Must be familiar with or open to training on proper equipment usage.
- A minimum requirement for this Canada based position is the ability to work legally in Canada. No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position.
