QA Automation Lead

Atimi is seeking a QA Automation Lead Engineer for mobile, API and web app testing for a permanent, full-time position based in Vancouver, BC. You will be testing a variety of our world-class apps that we build for our Fortune 5000 clients. Working in a highly supportive team of skilled developers and testers, you will help enhance our testing capabilities.
This is a hands on position, working with and understanding the latest mobile and web technologies. As well as leading the team you will be performing hands on automation testing and with the support of senior automation engineers, developing UI and API test automation. We aim to bring our clients ideas to life to create better connections.

**Responsibilities**:

- Lead a team, typically 3 or 4 QA, by setting clear goals, monitoring progress and verifying output
- Design and build scalable automated test frameworks and test suites working across technologies
- Create, maintain, and execute automated test cases for mobile, web, APIs and webservices
- Develop automation code demonstrating a strong understanding of object-oriented design fundamentals, data structures and design patterns (not just PageObjectModel, PageFactory and Singleton)
- Create API and webservice automated tests using Java, Postman, SOAP UI, Jmeter, REST assured or similar tools
- Create web automated test cases using Java, TestNG and Selenium in an AWS environment
- Professional interaction with our clients and internal resources
- Creation and execution of test strategy and plans
- Collaborate with the development, UX and PM leads to deliver our clients' vision
- Report test status to client and team in a clear and consistent way
- Demonstrate your expertise in testing in an Agile environment
- Generate metrics and information that improve practices on the team
- Assist with recruiting of junior QA resources
- Review, support and mentor junior QA engineer

**Requirements**:

- Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in computer science or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- Minimum of 8 years of experience, preferably in either a (SDE) Software Development Engineer or (SDET) Software Development Engineer in Test role
- Minimum 6 years of experience with backend automation with technologies like RESTful APIs, Web Services Java, Postman, SOAP UI, Jmeter, REST assured
- Accomplished abilities in Java and Core Java (minimum 4 years) and scripting languages, and in API testing and writing automated tests for mobile platforms
- Experience with tools such as Appium, Selenium and/or XCUI test
- Working knowledge in AWS technologies like S3, SNS, SQS, Lambda, EC2, Fargate, PostGres
- 2+ years of team lead experience
- Excellent written and verbal communication sills
- Strong knowledge of QA methodology and tools
- Results-oriented with strong customer focus

**Nice to Haves**
- Strong organizational skills, demonstrated ability to manage complex projects successfully
- Experience working with development and business teams to communicate problem impacts and to understand business requirements
- Knowledge of industry standard test automation tools and experience developing product test harnesses
- Exposure to Non-functional (performance, security, ADA) testing
- Other technical skills to support white box testing

**The position will ideally work out of our Vancouver office. Relocation support is not provided.**
