We seek excellent students, faculty, and staff to join us in what has become known as the "Western Experience" - an opportunity to contribute to a better world through the development of new knowledge, new abilities, new connections, and new ways to make a difference. **About Us**: The Division of Housing and Ancillary Services (‘HAS) is committed to providing a first-class experience in the areas of Housing (residence, apartments), Hospitality Services (campus eateries, great hall catering, conference services), and Retail Services (bookstore, graphic services) for undergraduate/graduate students and their families, staff and faculties at the Western communities, while supporting the academic mission of the University and ensuring profitability and cost effectiveness of the operation. **Responsibilities**: - The Street Team plays an important role within the Division of Housing and Ancillary Services, providing support to the HAS Marketing and Housing Recruitment teams. Street Team Leaders will help coordinate and plan the promotion of various services offered by the Division, at different locations across the campus, including but not limited to: - ** Conduct residence tours/Organize residence tours** Understand the set-up and work with The Book Store and Marketing Coordinator to organize and decorate the Delaware Hall tour rooms. Ensure there will be enough marketing materials in the tour room area and all that the posters are set up correctly. - Work with the Residence Operations team and Campus Tour guide to provide the residence tours daily and for special request tours. - Provide visitors (incoming students, parents etc.) with a residence building tour and room tour during open house events and/or throughout the school year. Members are required to explain all specific details and answer questions as trained. (Note there may be changes and adjustments based on the evolvement of the pandemic during the school year.)- **Organize the promotion of the services offered by the Division** Work with the Marketing Coordinator(s) and Hospitality Services team to come up with strategies to promote campus eateries and other services as assigned. - Keep inventory of the prizes and coupons that will be used to hand out and make sure all managers are aware of the coupons handed out. - These promotions will include but are not limited to handing out flyers and coupons, promoting campus eatery offerings, spreading awareness on the Bookstore products, and educating students on leadership opportunities (paid and/or volunteer positions) within the Division.- Set up and maintain booths across campus. - Engage in conversation with students and provide information as trained. - Collect survey responses and give out prizes. - ** Attend and support Marketing and Recruitment Events** This may include but not limited to Fall Preview Day, March Break Open House, Lunar New Year Gala, KIOC Open House event, etc.. - Working with the Associate Director of Client Services & Recruitment and the Director of Marketing and Communications to set up banners and all other required marketing materials for the event. Schedule Street Team members and other stake-holders to work throughout the event. - ** Other duties as assigned.** There will be paid mandatory training and monthly team-building activities. You are required to attend these events as part of the role. Exceptions will be made based on mandatory academic commitments or other extenuating circumstances on a case-by-case basis. Through your work with the Street Team, you will acquire professional communication and presentation skills. You will also learn the basics of behind-the-scenes event planning and team management. You will have access to, and connect with, a variety of resources on campus. This program is an excellent way to get involved and show pride in both Western and residence and create long-lasting friendships with your teammates. If you are energetic, love to meet people, and are enthusiastic about Western, this is the job for you We offer full training and work around your schedule. **Education**: Must be currently enrolled as a full-time Western student. **Experience**: - A minimum of 2 years of customer service or other work experience is required. - Previous experience living in a Western main campus residence is a nice plus. **Skills, Abilities & Expertise**: - Reliable and dependable with the ability to work at various times throughout the week and weekend - Strong verbal communication skills and ability to express ideas clearly - Ability to maintain a positive, outgoing attitude with genuine customer service orientation - Demonstrate integrity and work in accordance with Western
