**Job Summary**:
FOCUS Communications is looking for Copper Splicing Technicians. The role is responsible for the installation and setup of various telecommunication cables. The range of work varies from cable preparation, placement, splicing, troubleshooting and testing of copper in both aerial and underground infrastructures.

As part of this team, you will work with dedicated, diversified, and energetic groups that are committed to meeting deadlines for our clients. Following all safety and installations standards that meet or exceed our client’s requirements.

**Requirements**:

- Splicing, testing, and troubleshooting of copper sites and links
- Documenting and reporting on completed telecommunication work
- Maintaining project and telecom safety documentation
- Reviewing engineered plans and blueprints

**Responsibilities**:

- Ability to work in all weather conditions & confined spaces.
- Ability to work in a physically demanding atmosphere including, but is not limited to carry, raise, and climb a ladder, carry, lift, and handle heavy equipment (manhole covers, cable reels)
- Self-disciplined, motivated, and organized

**Qualifications**:

- Valid driver’s license, reasonable driver abstract
- Willingness to participate with On call, scheduled evening shifts and emergency call outs
- Some travel may be requested
- Competitive compensation based on experience and skill level
- EHB available after 3 months

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Calgary, AB T2B3K7: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

**Experience**:

- telecommunication: 1 year (preferred)
