Analyst, Investments

**Location: Port Credit, ON.**

**About the Role**

We’re looking for an Analyst to join our Investments Team

The Investments Team is responsible for Amp’s organization’s investment governance, asset underwriting, and management of corporate capital fundraising. The Analyst will play in important role in supporting these activities and collaborating within the Investments Team and across the organization to deliver this mandate.

**Responsibilities**:

- Perform rigorous due diligence and financial underwriting of project investment opportunities
- Support project origination, evaluation, execution, and financing of investment opportunities
- Ensure portfolio investments adhere to investment eligibility criteria
- Create and maintain an accurate and consistent schedule of assumptions for each financial model, performing the underlying research, and interacting with internal and external sources to compile and substantiate data
- Prepare investment memos and analysis for Amp’s Investment Committee
- Assist in the development of investor pitch materials, board presentations and presentations for potential clients
- Support the management of electronic data related to project origination and financing, and support activity within electronic data rooms
- Assist with transaction execution as required
- Turn around ad hoc financial analysis as required in a timely manner
- Any other job-related duties and/or projects that may be assigned

**Requirements**:

- At least 2 years of O&M work experience, preferably in renewable energy and ideally in the solar PV industry.
- 1-3 years of experience designing solar / electrical projects is highly desired.
- Experience in O&M assessment and coordination, including on-site due diligence along with electrical and mechanical works knowledge.
- Prior experience with both commercial scale (required) and utility scale (desired) solar PV projects.
- Experience in data analytics or Machine Learning languages.
- Proficiency in power generation tools such as PVsyst
- Ability to extract data from online performance monitoring systems (e.g. Draker, Cachelan, AlsoEnergy, Locus Energy, 3megawatt) and upload into MS Excel for analysis.
- Working knowledge of MS Visio is an asset.
- Data visualization and presentation capability.
- Python, Seaborn, Tableau, MatLab.
- Flexibility in re-prioritizing work due to unplanned events and/or urgent requests for work.
- Self-driven, highly motivated and able to work with mínimal supervision.
- Possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal).
- Able to work effectively with others in a collaborative team environment.
- High degree of professionalism.

**Qualifications**
- Strict attention to detail and the ability to support critical deadlines and retain a wide breadth of knowledge, at a fast pace
- Propensity to follow through and drive toward resolution, with a strong desire to learn
- Self-motivated and comfortable taking on new tasks or projects, at times with little direction
- Project finance and financial modelling experience, ideally accompanied by at least 1 year of on-the-job experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Administration; a degree in Economics, Engineering, and/or Computer Science would be considered together with a Finance background
- Agile and adaptable, with the ability to deal with changing priorities
- Strong writing, oral and interpersonal communication skills
- Genuine interest in the renewable energy industry
- CPA and/or CFA designations are an asset
- Coding knowledge, including VBA and/or Python, are an asset
