**Responsibilities**:

- **Training local individuals** (housing maintainers) on how to renovate the dwellings that have been recently remediated.
- Review equipment and supplies required to complete projects consistent with budget and work order/scope
- Execute timely completion of assigned work order tasks
- Proficient with relevant municipal and provincial building code regulations as it relates to building construction and repairs
- Provide quality workmanship consistent with industry standards
- Focus on a great Health & Safety environment - Complete Hazard Assessments and Safety Toolbox Talks daily
- Document and evaluate local maintainers
- Have own hand tools (plus drills)
- Provide direction or support in other areas as requested/required
- Exceptional problem-solving and decision-making capabilities
- Strong planning and organizational skills coupled with ability to multi-task and prioritize (excellent time-management skills)
- Ability to learn quickly, adapt to change and be flexible in nature
- Ability to work independently (self managed) and with other Associates in a team environment

**Qualifications**:

- High School diploma or equivalent
- Certified Journeyman Carpenter (Red Seal)
- Valid Class driver’s license
- The Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) preferred
- Occupational first aid level 1 preferred
- Proficient in all aspects of building repair and replacement

**Technical Requirements**:

- Working knowledge of English language both verbal and written
- Should be proficient in 70% of the below skills
- Walls - framing (metal and wood), wall replacement, install drywall, mud, tape, sand, paint, tub surround replace, repair tile, install tile, repair/replace baseboard and insulate
- Ceilings - all areas of repair, stipple ceiling repair/replace, ceiling tile, T-bar installation and insulate
- Cabinets - all areas of repair, re-facing cabinets, complete install cabinets
- Counter tops - all areas of repair, replace counter tops
- Floors - replace sub floor, vinyl tile/laminate/carpet/tile and/or replace. Replace/Re-frame joists, insulation and vapour barrier.
- Doors/Windows - closet repair/replace, door repair/replace, new door frame repair/replace, locks and handle replacement
- Exterior - deck repair/build, texturing, fence repair/replace, install new windows, concrete repair/replace,

**Salary**: $40/hour plus per diem (approx. $170/day)

- Carpentry: Minimum 7 years

**Salary**: $56,420.00-$91,604.00 per year
