CASASC is urgently hiring for a **"Human Resource Specialist".** Status**:Fulltime Permanent** Start Date**:ASAP** Salary**:$25 - $30 per hour (based on education, experience, and skills)** Work Location**:Red Deer, AB** **Job Summary**: Reporting to the Executive Director, the Human Resource Specialist manages day-to-day operations of the Human Resource Department. The position is part of management team and works in close coordination with the department managers and provide expertise by advising, coordinating, coaching, and providing strategic direction in a variety of Human Resource functions. Be responsible for HR policies and procedures, fostering collaborative relationships with all CASASC team members, and managing all HR operations in coordination with supporting CASASC vision and mission. **Qualification & Skills**: - A degree in Business Administration / Human Resources, or a relevant field and minimum 3 years’ proven experience in a similar capacity. A combination of experience and education may also be considered. - Experience of working in not-for-profit organization will be highly preferred. - CPHR designation or working towards the same will be considered as an asset. - Strong knowledge and understanding of Employment Standards, Labour laws and other applicable legislations. - Must have experience of working with HRIS system (Experience working on Payworks will be highly preferred) - Excellent interpersonal and communication skills - Experience of developing, interpreting, and implementing HR policies and procedures. - Strong aptitude in problem solving and conflict resolution. - Understand and experience of all HR operations such as recruitment, payroll, training and development, policy development and implementation and any other relevant skills. - Ability to work as a collaborative team member as well as an independent key player with minimum supervision. - Superior time management skills and be able to multi-task. - Proficient in MS-Office, HRIS. - Must be able to submit clear criminal records check with vulnerable sector screening. **Responsibilities**: - Provides guidance and advice in human resources practice areas including workforce planning, compensation, employee relations, workplace issues, performance management, workplace health and safety, workplace investigation, and Human Resources related legislation. - Guides the managers and employees in the interpretation of HR polices processes, programs and employment legislation. - Reviews business processes and systems to identify improvements and ensure compliance with new and changing legislation. - Builds and maintains relationships with CASASC Managers and all staff to create awareness and understanding of Human Resources practices and initiatives. - Manages employee relations matters, conducts investigations, and represents the organization in employment practice matters. - Keeps current with changes to legislation such as Human Rights Codes, Privacy Act, Employment Standards, and Health and Safety regulation. - Working with the Executive Director in developing and implementing various HR programs, policies, procedures, and initiatives. - Manages Employee database on file and electronically and ensures that all data is kept up to date. - Provides supports to the managers in terms of hiring and on-boarding of new employees. - Supports the accounts department with payroll and ensures all payroll updates pertaining to staff members are incorporated in a timely manner. - Collects and analyzes HR data, generating reports. - Provides guidance and mentorship to CASASC team members. **Team Responsibilities / Staff Development**: - Adheres to the values and guiding principles, policies, and procedures of CASASC and supports the strategic direction of the organization. - Participates in staff meetings and offered trainings. - Acts as a responsible team member by demonstrating initiative, completing work duties, and by maintaining clear, direct, and respectful communication with everyone in the work environment. - Proactively stays current with best and emerging practices in the field. Participates regularly in the staff development activities according to a learning and development plan identified through supervision and the on-going performance review process. - Provides back-up coverage to CASASC as required in response to the needs and priorities of the organization which includes other duties as and when assigned. **Organizational Responsibilities**: - Maintains agency confidence and protects operations by keeping information confidential. - Represents CASASC in a professional manner. - Maintains on-going positive public relations with external agencies, groups, and individuals (if required). - Uses appropriate mechanisms for resolving internal agency problems. - Maintain professional relationship with internal and external stakeholders. - _“Any other duty/ies as and when assigned by the management”_* **Job Types**
