Raceway Manager

Reporting to the VP of Finance, The Raceway Manager will be responsible for directing the overall operational, strategic and community leadership for Grand River Raceway.

JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Proven experience preparing and conducting post-implementation evaluations
- Proven experience with resource management
- Plan, organize, implement, and interpret goals, objectives, and policies
- Identify issues and implement creative solutions to address issues
- Build and maintain lasting relationships with Stakeholders, Community and Government
- Ability to delegate, set expectations, and monitor progress of all direct reports
- Manage cross-departmental and cross-disciplinary resource allocation

QUALIFICATIONS
- Degree or Diploma in business administration, management, organizational development, or a related field
- Several years of progressive experience in a horse racing management and/or operational role
- Project and Time Management Experience
- A solid understanding of the issues faced by the organization and the Gaming Industry
- Ability to initiate and model positive change
- Manage cross-departmental and cross-disciplinary resource allocation
- Sound analytical thinking, planning, prioritization, and execution skills
- Strong business acumen and Leadership Skills
- Strong Communication and interpersonal skills
- Required to obtain and hold an active AGCO Standardbred License - includes a personal, criminal, and financial security check
- Eligibility for bonding

WORK CONDITIONS
- Variable hours with the ability to work race night evenings (Mon-Wed-Fri) & holidays
- Occasional and overnight travel
- Exposure to hazards associated with Equine and Gaming Industry
- Public Speaking and conducting presentations
- Operation of desktop computer and peripherals - Microsoft Office software
