We’re seeking a new colleague to join our Operations team in **Ottawa.**If you consider yourself to be a highly skilled, hands-on **Production Manager**and have demonstrated skills in leading all aspects of production workflow using Lean principles, with an ability to successfully achieve continuous improvement goals, we invite you to submit your resume. **Duties & Responsibilities**:

- **GENERAL**:_
- Act in a professional manner and as an ambassador for the Company always.
- Provide an exemplary level of support to team members and co-workers.
- Ensure that all applicable company policies have been communicated to the workforce and are being followed.
- Lead, promote and recommend improvement initiatives including health and safety, people, processes, and equipment/machinery and ensure plant improvement initiatives are implemented and sustained regularly.
- Adopt and promote positive changes that will propel the company and employees forward.
- **SAFETY**_:

- Plays a key role in the development and maintenance of a behavioural based safety culture
- Views safety as a personal priority, observation, positive reinforcement, etc.
- Conduct safety training, hazard identification inspections and audits to ensure departmental operations and personnel are appropriately aware and follow OHSA and corporate safety objectives.
- Complete accident investigations in a timely and accurate fashion and ensure implementation of corrective actions.
- Develop and recommend improvements to safety policies and procedures.
- Ensure all work areas are clutter free and well organized.
- **QUALITY**:_
- Ensure quality is being “built-in” at each operation and all required process parameters so impact quality are within specified limits.
- Work in partnership with the Quality, Customer Service, Maintenance, and other teams to prevent and resolve any quality issues.
- Participate in problem solving to determine root cause and execute corrective actions for quality issues.
- Ensure that all quality testing, recording etc. is completed in compliance with industry standards and company policies and procedures.
- Ensure all products are complete, appropriately labelled and meet identified specification prior to their transfer to finished goods.
- **PRODUCTION**:_

**Production Planning and Scheduling**
- Develop and implement daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules based on demand forecasts and customer orders.
- Adapt the sales plan into a production schedule and ensure materials and resources are available for production.
- Monitor production rates, labour utilization, and material flow to ensure production targets are met.

**Process Optimization and Efficiency**
- Plan and direct the utilization of all equipment and labour to achieve the most effective results.
- Analyze production data and performance metrics to identify bottlenecks and inefficiencies in the production line.
- Implement continuous improvement initiatives to reduce waste, increase throughput, and optimize resource utilization.
- Ensure all production targets are being met throughout shifts; analyze and correct shortfalls with immediate actions.
- Conduct daily pre/post-shift communications and transition with other shift supervisors.
- Proactively identifies and elevates issues with a recommended solution appropriately to senior management.
- Work with maintenance team to minimize downtime through effective equipment management, preventive maintenance strategies and to rectify breakdown situations.
- Collaborate with the procurement team to ensure the timely ordering and delivery of materials while managing production costs without sacrificing product quality
- Prepare daily and periodic reports as required and in a timely fashion; updates Enterprise People System as the need arises for attendance and payroll reporting
