Restoration Mason

**Two Rivers Restoration Ltd.** is a small heritage masonry restoration company specializing in the repair of pre-1940's brick and stone buildings. Based in Guelph, ON and working in the surrounding area including Hamilton, Kitchener-Waterloo, Cambridge, and Burlington.

**Two Rivers **is seeking a **Restoration Mason** to assist in the reconstruction, repointing, and cleaning of brick and stone. Individual must be hard working, dedicated, and demonstrate a care for fragile heritage buildings.

This job is **Seasonal** and anticipated to end in early **November**.

*There can be potential consideration for ongoing full/part-time work in the Winter. Ongoing employment into following work seasons can be discussed at the end of this job's term.*

**Responsibilities **include but are not limited to:

- Follow direction to ensure safety on the job site and the heath of you and your coworkers
- Removing damaged mortar and masonry in a careful manner
- Setting up or dismantling system scaffolding
- Repointing brick and stonework
- Replace broken or damaged brick and stone masonry units
- Rebuild or infill window and door openings
- Reconstruct heritage walls, chimneys, and other masonry features

**Qualifications**:

- Minimum **2 years of experience in heritage masonry restoration** or applicable masonry experience.
- Applicants currently enrolled in a masonry course will be considered
- **Secondary (high) school graduation certificate**:

- Proficiency in using hand and power tools commonly used in masonry work.
- Ensure safety is a top priority at all times
- Good hand-eye coordination
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to work outside in hot, cold, noisy, dusty, and wet weather
- Ability to meet the physical demands of the job, lift/carry 60lbs and handle heavy tools/power tools
- A high level of care and detail when performing tasks to prevent damage to heritage building material

**Certifications**:

- Driver's License
- 'WHIMIS 2015' (preferred)
- 'Working at Heights' (preferred)
