Ideally situated in the heart of downtown, Hotel Halifax is recruiting for a Guest Service Agent.

The Guest Service Agent, the ambassador of guest satisfaction, provides exceptional service from check in to check out. Previous hotel experience is an asset, however, if you are outgoing and personable and find it easy to meet and talk to new people, we would love to hear from you

We are looking for someone who has good availability as the shifts do vary according to the needs of our hotel. It does involve working mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Duties & Responsibilities:

- Welcome guests, verify information on reservation, check guests in following proper cash handling controls. Upon check out, present statement of charges to departing guests and receive payment
- Provide guests with information regarding hotel’s facilities and services as well as local attractions
- Operate the hotel telephone system to take, track and deliver messages to guests or associates
- Create and/or update guest reservations via telephone, central/global reservations, and in person
- Monitor room inventory daily and follow established credit and inventory control procedures
- Complete shift closing accurately such as daily cash summaries
- Always ensure the security of keys and guest rooms.
- Know and understand hotel emergency procedures
- Provide exceptional professional customer service by anticipating guest needs and responding promptly to all guest requests

**Job Type**: Permanent

**Salary**: $15.30-$16.30 per hour

Supplemental pay types:
