We are an Industrial Vacuum Service provider operating in Hamilton, Ontario. We are looking for experienced Vacuum Truck Operators to join our Team.

Key Accountabilities:

- Liquid Vacuum Trucks & Wet/Dry Vacuum Trucks
- Driving and performing major duties independently
- Liquid transfer of material from one vessel to another location
- Driving and performing major duties with assistance of a Utility Operator
- Understand and complete required documentation such as waste manifests, bills of lading etc.
- Responsible for obtaining and completing customer safe work permits and any additional required documents for hauling materials
- Ability to provide input and recommendations to the management team on processes and procedures
- Perform the set-up and take down of equipment required for the job
- Perform the vacuuming of actual material from the job site
- Advise Utility Operator on the proper equipment needed on the truck to complete the job (i.e., hoses, fittings etc.)
- Conduct pre-trip inspection of each vehicle (i.e. check fluid levels, oil, anti-freeze etc.)
- Diagnose and report any vehicle mechanical issues to the mechanic
- Conduct yard checks
- Perform general housekeeping on a daily basis
- Other assignments as directed by the Supervisor/Supervisor
- Position may be required to work various shifts, including weekends and extended hours, according to client needs and as assigned through seniority standing
- Drivers must have a willingness to be available for short-term notice work and perform physical labour and/or assist other Drivers as required in the completion of assignments
- Drivers are required to adhere to all Environmental and Health & Safety policies and procedures

Qualifications & Education:

- DZ License is required
- Clean drivers abstract
- 1-3 years experience in a related field is required
- Experience with the function, repair and maintenance of vacuum and transfer pumps and industrial equipment is an asset
- Previous knowledge of TDGA, reg. 347/558, WHMIS, Confined Space Entry MTO, and MOE regulations, Working at Heights, SCBA, Supplied Air, Respirator Fit Tested (not a requirement), Harness Trained
- Effective oral communication
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team setting
- Proven track record of working safely
- Good customer service skills with an ability to speak and write English
- Effective problem-solving skills
- Basic mechanical knowledge

Working Conditions:

- Position requires the ability to stand for long periods of time, walking and climbing of stairs and ladders
- You will be exposed to environmental conditions such as hot and cold temperatures, work in areas that are dirty, dusty, wet and noisy
- You will be required to wear Personal Protective Equipment, such as a hard hat, eye protection, hearing protection, respirators, flame retardant clothing and safety boots
