Fleet Manager

NovaXpress is growing, and we are looking for a Fleet Manager to assists in the smooth operation of our courier business. We are looking for a person who is a jack of all trades, has a drive to win and is looking to build a career with us.
Job Duties
- Maintain fleet and equipment management including purchasing, scheduling, tracking, maintenance, and repairs
- Promote safety awareness by following policies and procedures on quality, health, safety, and environmental
- Plan, organize, direct, control and evaluate daily operations
- Prepare equipment and materials and assist road crews in maintaining their vehicles.
- Experience managing on the road break downs and managing 3rd party service vendors
- Create work orders in a quick and efficient manner
- Track supply levels and regularly submit purchasing recommendations.
- Assist in keeping the office & yard clean and organized
- Do preventive maintenance and minor repairs
- Other duties as assigned
You need to have:
- Solid organizational capabilities and ability to complete multiple tasks and the ability to shift priorities when requested then return to task appropriately
- Strong leadership/mentorship experience or aptitude to lead a team
- Ability to calmly deal with drivers on road issues
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to make sound decisions
- A valid driver’s license, and a clean abstract
- Flexible with time and able to answer calls after hours
Previous mechanic experience is considered an asset but not required.
