**Position Summary**

**Job Duties/Responsibilities**
Reporting to the Chief Infrastructure and Technology Officer, this senior leadership position is responsible for the direction, provision and use of technology and the management and security of information across the Division in support of instructional and operational success. As a systems thinker, with a focus on continuous improvement and Division priorities, the Managing Director works collaboratively across the Division to guide the development, support and effectiveness of enterprise and portal systems, technology infrastructure and acquisition as well as student information, cyber security, division records and access to information and protection of privacy.

As a senior leader, and strategic organizational partner, this position cultivates and maintains relationships to facilitate creative thinking, innovation, problem solving and the use of data across multiple decision units to promote a safe, secure and sustainable technology environment for students, staff and those we serve.

The Managing Director provides strategic oversight and guidance related to:

- the effective development, deployment, upgrading and use of technology across the Division
- ensuring student information and division records are managed, secure and able to meet the information needs of the Division
- the infrastructure and support services required to ensure a safe and secure information network of over 100,000 devices across more than 235 schools and facilities
- the effective financial management of multiple decision units with a combined budget of over $40 million
- the preparation of Board and Division Support (Executive) Team reports and ongoing information sharing with Board, the Division Support Team and other partners
- regarding Technology and Information Management matters
- continuing to evolve the long term strategy for Technology and Information Management, using a responsive and data-informed approach that is aligned with the
- Division mission, vision, strategic plan and cornerstone values
- the evaluation of technology initiatives and building upon processes that support effective decision making and change management
- promoting a sense of team, collaboration and a shared commitment to continuous improvement among the multi-functional Technology and Information Management team
- developing strong working relationships with school administrators, central leaders, staff and other key partners
- ensuring effective coaching, mentoring and support is provided to team members to enable them to support ongoing development and capacity building

**Education/Qualifications**
- an undergraduate degree in a related field such as computing science, technology, engineering or education
- minimum of 11 years of progressively responsible leadership experience supporting the use of technology
- experience leading technology and information management infrastructure and services in a large and complex organization with multiple sites
- strong knowledge of current issues and opportunities facing technology and information management
- experience interpreting and operationalizing relevant legislation, strategic directions, organizational policy and technical standards
- understanding of the K-12 education sector
- experience in effective financial management
- demonstrated success in cultivating and maintaining strong working relationships and a positive workplace culture
- demonstrated ability to lead and inspire a large and diverse team through significant change
- excellent communication skills with a focus on creative problem solving and collaboration
- experience with strategic planning, governance, change management and project management
- demonstrated success making data-informed decisions in support of continuous improvement

**Rate of Pay**
$5,884.90 - $7,619.50 bi-weekly
