Cultivation Associate

As a Cultivation Associate, you will be responsible for the care of cannabis plants during the immature, vegetative, flowering, and harvesting stages. You will carry out the company’s unique practices under the supervision of the Cultivation Team Lead. You will be a key player in cultivating our full-spectrum light, rainwater-fed, sustainable cannabis. This role has the potential for growth as you take ownership and responsibility for processes within the Cultivation Team.

This is a full-time entry level position starting at $19.00/hour.

Who You Are
- Green-thumbed - no formal experience required but you are passionate about plants and learning how to take care of them
- Initiative - you are a go-getter and demonstrate a positive attitude towards completing work objectives
- Detail oriented - you are thorough and can follow specific instructions. You take pride in the quality and accuracy of your work, no matter how small
- Reliable - you are very dependable and are able to effectively work through technical challenges with team members
- Continuous Learner - you are eager to acquire technical skills and knowledge necessary to perform the job effectively for your own development

**What We Are Looking For**:

- Minimum of one season’s experience working in commercial horticulture or greenhouse environment preferred
- Willingness to learn about commercial cannabis cultivation and horticulture
- Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills

**What You’ll Be Doing**:

- Assist in the execution of Tantalus Labs’ Cultivation Strategy
- Perform crop operations and maintenance tasks as directed - including but not limited to: soil work, transplanting, irrigation, pruning, plant movement, harvesting and sanitizing
- Maintain meticulously clean and organized work environment in alignment with Health Canada standards
- Learn from and assist Cultivation Specialists in Pest Management, Propagation, Destruction and Harvest roles
- Track times, dates, activities and products used for reporting and record keeping
- Comply with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Good Production Practices (GPP's)

**Working Conditions**:

- May be required to work evening and overtime
- Main location of work will be located in Maple Ridge
- Inter-divisional cooperation and collaboration as required by company needs
- Working outdoors and/or within a climate controlled greenhouse or enclosed trimming room
- Physically demanding work including standing, walking, climbing, bending, and lifting up to 50 lbs
- Repetitive work in a production environment
