Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Horticultural Team Lead to join our dynamic team. As a Horticultural Team Lead, you will seamlessly integrate your skills in leading people, project management, plant layout, installation and care, guiding our team, and encouraging a culture of collaboration and innovation. This role requires a blend of organizational skills, horticulture knowledge, and leadership acumen.

**Responsibilities**:

- Enhance existing landscape designs, choose native plants, and use water conservation techniques
- Utilize strong organizational skills to effectively lead and manage the design team, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget.
- Ability to understand customer needs and preferences to deliver tailored landscape solutions.
- Leverage a background in horticulture to oversee plant health care, landscape maintenance, and ensure the sustainability and vitality of our outdoor spaces.
- Communicate with clients, your team members and our management team in a professional and friendly manner.
- Conduct daily inspections of the work vehicle, and tools/equipment
- Actively participate in various horticultural services, including but not limited to plant layout, plant installation, pruning, watering best practices, and pest control.
- Ensure work is performed efficiently and safely in accordance with WSIB standards
- Participate in the selection of new team members for your team.

**Experience**:

- Professional-level knowledge of perennials, groundcovers, shrubs and trees, and horticultural maintenance best practice techniques
- Horticulture certification/diploma is considered a valuable asset
- Ability to sketch garden layouts would be an asset, and ability to read drawings/plans/specifications.
- You have excellent communication and interpersonal skills in service and client care.
- Ability to work flexible hours.
- Have a G Driver’s License and clean driving abstract (abstract available upon request)
- Fit and willing to work outdoors in all weather conditions for extended periods of time
- Ability to carry, climb, push, stoop, reach, dig and to load and unload various objects.
- Ability to operate various landscape power tools and related equipment.

Pay: $30.00-$35.00 per hour

**Benefits**:

Schedule:

- Monday to Friday
- Weekends as needed

**Experience**:

- Leadership: 5 years (required)
- Landscape maintenance: 5 years (required)

Licence/Certification:

- Class G Licence (required)

Work Location: On the road
