Job Description:

- KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manages a Quality Assurance squad that can be comprised of QA Engineers, Analysts and/or Testers
- Evolves Quality Assurance best practices and ways of working at Cogeco
- Creates scripts in one or more automation platform
- Works with Automation experts at Cogeco to implement the automated tests and framework appropriate for the product vertical(s)
- Accountable for all QA Recommendations & sign-off prior to moving into trials and production roll-out
- Reviews output from testing cycles to identify possible trends and look for areas of improvement
- Collaborates with other QA Leads to establish and evolve best practices and standards for testing & QA at Cogeco
- Provides quarterly forecasts for QA Analyst & tester capacity and assigns QA Analysts to projects
- Maintains communication with Product Managers/Owners to understand the product roadmap to ensure adequate QA coverage for future products
- Prepares weekly executive level reports to help identify risks, ensure alignment and drive business decisions
- Develops and maintains appropriate tracking and reporting to identify potential areas of improvement
- Develops objectives for QA Analysts and QA Testers that align to Product department, Squad and QA evolution goals
- Implement and support QA methodology within squads as required
- Maintains visibility to all bugs and issues opened within the product vertical and assists QA Analysts with the bug governance process as needed
- Analyzes test escapes gathered by QA Analysts and works with them to ensure gaps are addressed for future testing
- Contribute to and lead QA chapter meetings
- Mentoring & Coaching of QA team members

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS
- ACADEMIC TRAINING- College diploma in Computer Science, Engineering or related discipline or combination of equivalent education and work experience required-
- Training or certification in Quality Assurance is highly recommended- WORK EXPERIENCE- 7+ years in Quality Assurance or similar experience-
- 5+ years leading Quality Assurance deliverables on projects, squads or in a dev-ops environment-
- Experience leading testers & assigning testing activities-
- Experience working with automated testing platformsSPECIFIC COMPETENCIES- Ability to understand the impacts of actions and decisions to the overall organization and in-flight projects-
- Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to motivate teams, and to provide leadership and direction.-
- Able to manage a diverse range of quality assurance deliverables across projects of various scope-
- Ability to prioritize deliverables among conflicting deadlines and competing interests-
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills combined with demonstrated documentation skills. French communication skills would be an asset.-
- Self-motivated with the ability to take initiative in identifying and resolving problems independently.-
- Strong collaboration skills and ability to work closely with Project Managers, Product Owners, Engineers and Developers-
- Able to set team and personal objectives that align to product & organizational needs-
- Expertise using Test Case management software (e.g. HPQC/ALM, AIO)Expertise using issue tracking software (e.g. JIRA, SNOW)-
- Effective technical writing skills and ability to describe complex issues-
- Knowledge of KANBAN, SCRUM, & Agile ways of working-
- Knowledge of telecom products, services, technology and CPEs-
- Handles conflict with empathy and creates an environment of psychological safety within the team-
