**Job Description**:

- Experience working with children ages (5 - 13) is preferred.
- Can develop interactive activities and design and deliver engaging online and in-person programs that accommodate kids' diverse cultural backgrounds.
- Attend all staff trainings and meetings; show up on time, and actively contribute to the development of all team members.
- Act as a positive role model for children, youth, and fellow staff by embodying strong values and following camp guidelines, policies, and procedures.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both oral and written.
- Implement and develop program material that is accompanied by arts and crafts.
- Leading daily activities and monitoring children.
- Follow camp objectives, rules, policies, and guidelines.
- Serve as a positive role model for the kids and teens.
- Support the coordination of special events/projects.
- Assist with internal and external communications to build relationships, community and collaboration.
- Other duties and tasks may be assigned on an as-needed basis

Qualifications:

- Provide Vulnerable Sector Check.
- Passion for working with immigrants and newcomers' kids and pre-teens.
- Ability to work independently and/or with a team.
- Be punctual, organized and have excellent communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail, with an ability to prioritize tasks and responsibilities.
- Willingness to take initiative and create a safe and friendly environment for the kids and staff.
- Excellent problem-solving and organizational skills.
- CPR and First Aid Certification is an assist.

This position is funded through the Canada Summer Jobs program and requires that the applicant is:

- Between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of employment;
- A Canadian Citizen, permanent resident, or person on whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act; and
- Legally entitled to work according to the relevant provincial legislation and regulations.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Seasonal

**Salary**: $15.00 per hour

Schedule:

- Day shift
- Monday to Friday
- Weekend availability

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Scarborough, ON M1C 2L6: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
