**Parker Hannifin Canada **is hiring a **permanent full-time** **Fluid Power Technician** at our Milton location. This is an hourly role working in a production/shop floor environment from Monday to Friday.

In this role, you will be responsible for supporting Parker Canada Engineered Systems' product offering for Canadian customers. Using the Parker Lean System and Win Strategy to ensure a safe work environment, maximize profitable growth, drive quality assembly, test, and troubleshooting primarily in the area of fluid power technologies. Oversee day to day activities to meet daily and monthly key performance indicators.

**Basic/Essential Duties**
- **Assembly**_
- _Perform bench work including assembly and disassembly, modification, cleaning, measuring, inspection and testing of hydraulic equipment.
- Read and interpret job specifications, bill of material (BOM), engineering or design drawings and schematics, etc., to assemble systems product on an as-ordered basis. The systems product line includes:

- Snow & Ice Kits
- Manifolds
- Valves
- Pumps
- Motors
- Hydraulic Power Units
- Use shop equipment and machinery such as: hydraulic test stands, grinders, tube benders, and hand tools.
- Perform hydraulic testing on systems product to ensure proper function/specification, pressure regulation, and absence of exterior leakage through the use of test stands.
- **Repair/Conversions**_
- Recognize and address any incorrect function of the Hydraulic components and system if failure is identified.
- Disassemble, clean, inspect and repair/troubleshoot hydraulic product and related components as required.
- Complete failure analysis, record quality measurements if required to properly outline findings, and complete required documentation to record evaluation results.
- **Overall**_
- Package product for shipment or restock.
- Ensure the quality of products and services the customer receives meets or exceeds their requirements.
- Work in a team environment to efficiently achieve a high standard of quality and service.
- Maintain personal and work cell tools and equipment through preventative maintenance activities.
- Always maintain cleanliness of shop and work area to ensure the maintenance of a safe work environment, performing various cleaning and 5S+S duties as required.
- Adhere to company safety/regulatory policies and procedures to ensure the safe work environment of themselves, fellow employees, customers, vendors, contractors and any other personnel who pass through the facility
- Ensure all safety rules and safe work procedures such as use of PPE, Lockout/Tag out, etc., are followed by themselves and by others working in and around the work cell.
- Work in a safe manner, lead by example and contribute to overall company safety.
- Provide technical support for inside sales representatives as required
- Participate in Lean initiatives and activities
- Coach, train and develop other employees as required
- Provide assistance to other departments as required
- Participate in team meetings and environment
- Prioritize your time to ensure all requirements are met
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Support the Parker WIN Strategy.

**Qualifications (Education & Experience)**:

- Post-secondary degree or diploma in Mechanics, Hydraulics, Millwright, or equivalent experience.
- Fluid Power Training/Certification is considered an asset.
- Basic machining knowledge considered an asset.
- 5+ years experience in the hydraulic industry, as a millwright, or equivalent.
- Mechanical experience in an industrial setting; experience in hydraulics with pumps, motors, testing and setup is preferred.
- Experience operating cranes to transport product with the use of slings is preferred.

**Certification/Licenses**:

- Forklift operator, as required.
- Fluid Power Technician Certification (completed or currently working towards).

**Required Skills**:

- Ability to understand and analyze mechanical systems with thorough understanding of fluid power principles and standards.
- Knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics with the ability to troubleshoot systems.
- Understand, read, and interpret manuals, parts lists, and engineered drawings - mechanical, schematic, ISO, etc.
- High mechanical aptitude to use and operate hand and air tools such as an overhead crane.
- Ability to read customer sales order paperwork/instructions.
- Ability to use both written and verbal skills to effectively communicate technical information.
- Ability to use measuring equipment.
- Knowledge of basic electronics/electricity.
- Basic personal computer skills.
- Knowledge of basic shop math.
