Youth Minister

Program Responsibilities:
- Develop a team of volunteers
- Interact with youth grade 5 to 12 in the form of one to one outreach, group activities, youth worship and teaching
- Develop programming for youth in collaboration with Parish Ed Committee in conjunction with other program leaders
- Collaborate with other church staff members to coordinate youth ministry activities and integrate youth into the larger church community
- Promote and participate in MNO Synod youth activities; network within the community with other youth leaders, organizations and schools.
- Collect data regarding youth attendance and participation
- Expectation of maintaining confidentiality
- Continuing education
Qualifications:
- Ability to relate to youth, their families and congregation members
- Communication skills in individual and group settings
- Strong knowledge of Lutheran teachings and principles
- Planning and organizational skills required to maintain a vibrant program
- Flexible, open-minded and able to respond spontaneously to needs
Education and Experience:
- Grade 12 or higher
- Training in religion, counselling, mental health, child development, recreation an asset
- Experience working with volunteers
- Driver’s License

Schedule:
- Evening shift
- Monday to Friday
- Weekends as needed
Ability to commute/relocate:
- Steinbach, MB: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
