Irvin Heritage is an archaeological consultancy based in Newmarket that services all of Southern Ontario. We conduct all stages of archaeological assessment and offer guidance and project management related to the mitigation and management of archaeological resources. We believe every member of our staff should have the knowledge to understand all requirements of the provincial archaeological process.
As part of our team you will have the opportunity to grow your skills as a proficient archaeologist and leader. Your time at IHI will give you an understanding of the full process of Ontario Archaeological Consultation from proposal to finalization. We are looking for experienced archaeological field directors but also encourage energetic new licensees to apply.
We Require:
- Applied Research License under Ontario's Ministry of Citizenship & Multiculturalism
- Thorough practical knowledge of Ontario's Standards and Guidelines for Consultant Archaeologists and all subsequent Bulletins
- Valid Drivers License in good standing
- Excellent Verbal and Written Communication Skills
- Ability to travel daily to variable work locations
- Ability to stay consecutive nights up to 5 days out of town (individual hotel rooms and per diem provided)
- Ability to work a physically demanding job in a variety of outdoor conditions
We offer:
- Competitive compensation based on experience and performance
- Starting wages: $30.00/hr+
- Mileage compensation (when company vehicles unavailable)
After Probationary Period:
- Boot Credit
- Paid Sick/Personal Leave Days
- Performance Based Personal Bonus (End of year)
The Field Director position is a **salary track** position. Promotion opportunity will be evaluated quarterly.
