**Program Overview**:
The eHealth Centre of Excellence (eCE) develops, implements, and advances digital health tools and services - such as eReferral, eConsult, Virtual Care, Online Appointment Booking, Patient Forms, EMR Tools, and Automated Solutions - to better serve clinicians and patients across the province. We advocate for the continued and improved use of technology to enhance the connection and secure information-sharing between all clinicians in the patient’s circle of care, as well as communication between clinicians and their patients. We also support clinicians with tools that provide decision support at the point of care and improve data quality, leading to enhanced outcomes for patients.
The eCE works collaboratively with system partners, regional and provincial agencies, Ontario Health Teams, clinicians, and patients to support priorities that ensure equitable, seamless care for all residents in Ontario, and co-leads two provincial programs: the Ontario eServices Program and Evidence2Practice (E2P) Ontario. Our founding vision is one of innovation and partnership, and our mission is to be the leading, trusted digital health partner for primary care and integrated patient care.
**About the role**:
The HR Projects Specialist will play a key role in supporting the execution of strategic HR projects for the eCE. Reporting to the HR Manager, this individual will lead a specific set of assigned projects and initiatives, primarily around policy development and evaluation for the eCE to align with the overall goals and objectives of the organization.
**Key Roles and Responsibilities**:
- Develop, implement, and maintain HR handbook, policies, processes, and procedures
- Provide recommendations for new or updated HR policies and procedures to support the organization; lead the development, implementation, and maintenance of policies
- Stay current on legislation changes, making recommendations for updates to processes and policies when necessary to ensure eCE is compliant with all relevant legislation
- Assist with updating and maintaining job descriptions for all roles
- Ensure job evaluation framework is updated as required and all positions are evaluated regularly, making recommendations for changes to framework as necessary
- Research, evaluate, and analyze HR business requirements and processes that have potential impact on operations and provide strategic recommendations
- Work with HR Manager to plan and execute strategic projects and programs to assist in accomplishment of overall organizational goals
- As a Subject Matter Expert (SME), articulate complicated policy and procedural issues and provides guidance to management and employees related to HR policies and procedures
- Other duties as assigned
**Qualifications**:
- Post-secondary education in human resources, public policy, law, legal service, or related disciplines
- 3-5 years of work experience in HR in a similar role; experience within the not-for-profit or public sector an asset
- Demonstrated experience writing and editing HR policies and procedures
- Knowledge of best practices, methods, trends, and legislation in human resources management, with a focus on HR policies and programs
- Strong communication skills (written and oral)
- Strong attention to detail
- Completion of or working towards CHRP or CHRL designation preferred
- Demonstrated interpersonal skills
