**Status**:Full-time (combined with remote work)
**Salary**:$23-$30 an hour
Girls Inc. of Northern Alberta is looking for an Event Planner and Communications Lead who can help a grassroots organization grow through strategically communicating our program impact, planning/implementing strategies to cultivate and maintain relationships with community members and enhancing our organizational voice to inspire all girls to be strong, smart and bold.

General Duties:
Under supervision of the Executive Director, Communication Lead is responsible for strategic communications across various platforms, fundraising database management and providing quality customer services to media partners and stakeholders. You will:
- Develop, implement and update year-long communications plan/calendar that coordinates fundraising activities, online/offline campaigns, social media, website and event communications
- Develop and maintain the Girls Inc. of Northern Alberta brand and events by updating the website, ensuring a social media presence, regular newsletters and updating content regularly and strategically.
- Lead the coordination and execution for all special events, including concept development, logístical coordination, partner cultivation, pre-/post
- event promotion, budget monitoring and event activity execution
- Develop and maintain fund development database and mailing list, including data entry and reporting, ensuring accuracy of data.
- Assist programing staff in planning and implementation of programming as needed to help facilitate girls’ personal development process through educational-recreational experiences.
- Prepare and distribute press release on key events, and annual reports in close coordination with respective partners
- Ensure general safety and confidentiality of the program participants and stakeholders.
- Prepare analysis of fundraising events/campaign results and donor giving patterns to help determine effective fundraising plans
- Research potential investors
- Convey messages around Girls’ Inc. philosophy and positive community development
- Undertake other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Direct experience in strategic marketing, media network cultivation, stakeholder engagement/relationship building and fundraising event planning/execution/promotion
- Well-established network amongst media partners and gender equality advocates would be an asset
- Demonstrated understanding of and experience in gender equality, gender-sensitive programming and systemic (in)justice
- Transferable experience in group facilitation experience with youth and adults
- Experience Indigenous-informed teaching methods would be an exceptional asset
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Well-developed cultural sensitivity with high integrity and professionalism
- Self-starter with team-oriented approach to meeting goals and objectives
- Comfort with Microsoft Office, Google Suites, Zoom, Social Media outlets (Facebook, TikTok, Twitter, Instagram etc.) and Wordpress
- Experience with donor/client management and graphic design software would be an exceptional asset
- Background clearance from the RCMP
- Relevant post-secondary education preferred
- Relevant experience or qualification will be considered
- Class 5 Driver’s License
- Valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations
