Currently, we seek motivated and mechanically inclined individuals for our manufacturing locations.
**CNC Machine Operator, Waterloo AFTERNOON - Monday - Thursday 2:45pm - 12:45am**
**Responsibilities include**:
- Safely operate CNC Mill or Lathe by manually loading and unloading parts.
- Complete and document required quality checks and inspections.
- Polish and wash any parts during cycle.
- Correctly read blueprints and troubleshoot basic problems prior to seeking assistance from CNC Set-Up Operator or Supervisor.
- Inspect cutting tools for sharpness and usability and alert CNC Set-Up Operator / Supervisor if tool wear is evident.
- Understand when inserts need to be changed and adjust offsets as required.
- Reset CNC machine after cycle interruption and test the machine.
- Verify accuracy of machine settings and detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining with advanced use of precision measuring instruments such as height gauges or indicators.
- Clean and upkeep CNC machines and surrounding work area.
- Ensure continuity between shifts through clear and complete documentation of actions, irregularities and continuing needs.
- Follow quality management system policy and procedures as per ISO 9001:2015.
- Maintain work area clean and organized, and follow health & safety rules.
**Requirements**:
- Perform required functions without sacrificing production standards, quality or safety.
- Minimum 2 -3 years’ experience as a CNC Machine Operator.
- Knowledge on use of the different precision measuring tools.
- Working knowledge of OHSA and WHMIS.
- Ability to troubleshoot and problem solve effectively and efficiently.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and execute results to achieve customer satisfaction.
- Ability to deal with conflict, stress and time constraints in an efficient, professional, courteous manner.
- Good written and verbal communications skills.
- Must be capable of sitting, standing and walking for extended periods of time.
**Physical Demands**:
Required to carry out routine, repetitive tasks such as reaching, pushing, pulling, standing, walking, lifting, packing, stacking, bending, climbing / descending / going under or on equipment as well as some physical lifting.
Regularly exposed to noise, temperature change and lubricants and vibration.
Wears all PPE as required.
