Summary of responsibilities
- Reporting to the Facilities Maintenance Manager.
- Provide routine maintenance of, and general repairs to broken or faulty hospital equipment such as, but not exclusive to, the following: wall repairs, painting, building envelope repairs, leaking faucets, plugged toilets and sinks, wheelchairs, furniture, hospital beds, doors, windows, etc.
- Changing of locks and keys when required.
- The installation of equipment such as bulletin boards, dispensers, etc. shelving and assembly of office furniture.
- Completion of scheduled preventative maintenance tasks per the ticketing system.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Minor renovations
- Erecting and dismantling of containment units.

Requirements of the job
- Provincial Trade Certification
- Good interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and problem solve
- Must participate in on-call rotation
- Good computer skills
- Ability to read and understand blueprints, engineering drawings and technical manuals
- Ability to use power operated tools including drill press, saws, etc.
- Knowledge of building automation equipment and electromechanical equipment
- Demonstrated regular, punctual attendance
- General mechanical knowledge
- Demonstrated commitment to patient safety
- Functional proficiency in English (oral and written)
- Valid driver's license and access to own transportation
