**Payroll Supervisor**
Assumes supervisory functions for the payroll department, ensuring that financial management practices are fully aligned with current laws, regulations, professional accounting standards and Price Industries Limited policies.
Directly supervise all payroll functions.
Work effectively with all auditors, service providers such as ADP, WCB, CRA to resolve issues.
Responsible for training, supporting and developing direct reports.
Manage multi-province and global payrolls, including garnishments, benefits, and taxes consistent with all laws and regulations.
Responsible for reconciliation of source deductions and third-party remittances.
Understand complex union agreements.
Process journal entry for salary and hourly payroll.
Maintain the year end taxable benefits file.
Manage the preparation/reconciliation of payroll and health benefit insurance.
Maintain employee confidence and protect payroll operations by keeping information confidential.
Ensure the processing of new hires, terminations, and other changes are completed accurately.
Maintain reports and distribute them to the management team.
Partner with HR to continuously streamline the payroll and benefits process
Assist with interim and year-end audits and annual budget process.
Complete other tasks and projects as assigned.
Certification in Canadian Payroll Association required.
Minimum of 5 years payroll experience.
Supervisory payroll experience in a manufacturing environment is an asset.
Proficient in Microsoft Office, principally Excel worksheets.
Detail-oriented, professional attitude, reliable, strong organizational and time management skills.
Ability to interact with employees in a professional manner.
Ability to build a team in a fast-paced and high-volume environment with emphasis on accuracy and timeliness.
Demonstrated ability in management of automated payroll system, preferably ADP.
Strong quantitative & analytic skills.
Ability to evaluate/interpret information and make independent judgments.
