**The Opportunity**:
The Payroll Specialist will oversee and manage the organization’s payroll functions and benefits administration.

This role is expected to provide day-to-day administrative support for Canadian Payroll & Benefits, manage bi-weekly payroll processing for all entities, and on-going reporting (Payroll / Finance / Benefits / Compensation), auditing, year-end payroll processing, and special projects.

**A Day in the Life (What you will do here)**:

- Implements, maintains, and reviews payroll processing systems to ensure timely and accurate processing of multi-provincial payroll transactions including salaries, benefits, garnishments, taxes, and other deductions.
- Manage Workforce Management (UKG) to ensure timesheets are submitted and employees are correctly allotted their annual Paid-Time-Off (PTO).
- Prepares and maintains accurate records and reports of payroll transactions.
- Identifies and recommends updates or adjustments to payroll processing software, systems, and procedures.
- Serves as the point of contact for payroll and benefits matters ensuring that cases are resolved as quickly as possible with a focus on providing superior customer service.
- Collaborate with Finance reconciling payroll general ledger files to bank statements and reviewing the accuracy of payroll deductions to payroll output documents.
- Maintain payroll and HRIS information and control input of data to ensure accuracy and data integrity required for internal and external audit and reporting purposes.
- Promptly execute all post-processing audits to validate payroll accuracy and make any necessary adjustments with the goal of an error-free payroll.
- Own legal compliance related to payroll, year-end filings, taxes and benefits deductions.
- Year-end payroll activities including reconciliations, submissions, and distribution of T4, T4A and T2200, and any other payroll related forms including ROEs.
- Manage all required payroll records and ensure information is filed in a secured confidential area and archived in accordance with retention policies.
- Record, maintain and update payroll procedures.
- Manage monthly, Quarterly, Annual Remittances to appropriate Government Agencies by province (Health Taxes, WSIB, CPP).
- Process Off-Cycle payments when required.
- Assist managing group insurance enrollment, termination, and information update; managing the payment of group insurance and RRSP contribution. Liaising with Benefits providers when needed.
- Assist in managing LTD claims, in partnership with HR.
- Responsible for coordinating and processing payments of employee benefit premiums during periods of absence such at LTD, Maternity Leave, etc.
- Facilitates audits by providing records and documentation to auditors.
- Responsible for prompt processing and distribution of employee benefit cards.
- Understands and manages all issues in a manner that is consistent with Sentrex Mission, Vision, Values and Brand.

**What you need to ensure you are set up for success**:

- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Human Resources, similar field, or equivalent experience.
- 3+ years’ experience in a similar role.
